let's stretch our faith in the area of... anxiety

Updated: Dec 13, 2024

Considering that May is mental health awareness month, Girls in Grace decided to shed light on ways you can increase your faith concerning your mental health. This week we want to uncover the truths to heal your anxious mind. Personally, I have struggled with anxiety in the areas of life and school. Anxiety is an uneasy feeling when anticipating an outcome or event. I get anxious at the end of the school year, because I hope I pass my courses and my professors won’t present any surprises. Take a moment to ask yourself when was the last time you felt anxious? When I get anxious I have to think back to when was the last time I consulted God on this matter. Think of your life as like an ocean, the waves toss to and from but where are you anchored ? Are your thoughts and concerns equivalent to the way God thinks towards you?

Psalms 139: 17-18 says, “God, your thoughts are precious to me. They are so many! If I could count them, they would be more than all the grains of sand. When I wake up, I am still with you.” So the truth is God already has your issues, your tomorrow, and even your future on top of his mind. Can you release yourself from the worry and start thanking God for seeing you in this moment. It is his will for you to be worry free. He says in Matthew 6:26-27,”Look at the birds in the air. They don't plant or harvest or store food in barns, but your heavenly Father feeds them. And you know that you are worth much more than the birds. You cannot add any time to your life by worrying about it.” Take refuge in God’s provision, let us replace our anxious mind with a heart of gratitude. Remember if God did it before he will bring your through it again!
